In today’s post, we’re proud to introduce our CTO, Mindaugas Butkus to the growing Solanax Community. We’ve compiled a few questions to give our users and supporters the chance to get to know one of the main driving forces behind the Solanax Project.

With almost a decade of experience in IT and a background marked by several successful endeavors, Mindaugas Butkus will be leading our team through the challenges of a growing DeFi environment and the fast-paced evolution of Crypto.

We decided to take this opportunity to ask some non-business-related questions and get a glimpse of our CTO’s life path, education, and hobbies, as well as understanding his hopes and expectations for Solanax and the overall Industry in the foreseeable future.

So without any further delay, we now give way to the small Q&A we held with the Solanax CTO, Mindaugas Butkus.

  1. Tell us a bit about yourself, your education, and your development years

I am an experienced Information Technology Project Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the outsourcing/offshoring industry. Skilled in PHP, Symfony Framework, Rust, Javascript, MySQL, C++. I could say I am a strong engineering professional with a Bachelor’s Degree focused in Computer Network Administration, graduated Kaunas College.
My passion for programming started in 2010.

2. Do you have any hobbies or activities you like to do in your free time?

I like to spend my free time productively. Mostly I travel with my family and friends. I have a passion for motorbikes, so after a difficult day, I like to drive around the city to distract my thoughts from work; also, like most of us, I enjoy playing video games.

3. When was your first contact with crypto? Did you believe in it right away?

I think a few years back, I had my first contact with crypto. At first, I did not really think it was reliable, but I liked the main idea and technology itself.

4. Tell us a bit about your professional journey and what led to this point.

I first started Call System Administration, later started programming, became team-lead. All this experience led me to where I am right now.

5. What moments do you think were the most important in your career? What accomplishments are you most proud of?

Every project is like a new challenge for me. I don’t have any exceptions. I could proudly say that 80% of them are still active and working. For every project I gave all my effort, it does not matter if it was freelancing or a full-time job.

6. What are you more passionate about within the technology space?

Progress, AI, IoT.

6. Do you still code? How is your typical workday?

I start my day at 7 am. After getting ready to leave the house, I go to the gym, have an hour’s workout. After that, I eat breakfast and start working. From 6 pm to 9 pm I take a break from working. And then, until 1 am-2 am, I spend my time working.
I am still coding, I wish I had more time for that, but it is what it is.

7. What did you look for when building the team for Solanax?

I had a team before. The only difficulty I faced was finding a rust programmer.

8. What do you feel are the biggest challenges for the industry and, more specifically, for Solanax?

This industry and especially the Solanax ecosystem is very fast growing and that might be a challenge due to how quickly new innovations come. However, our team is more than prepared to overcome this and go toe to toe with our competition and be one of the leading DEXs in the ecosystem.

9. What are your expectations for Solanax in 2022?

In 2022 we expect Solanax to be a fully functioning DEX in the Solana ecosystem. We expect to make a real difference and impact in order to improve the user experience for everyone.

We are planning to have a very successful year for Solanax. At that point, we will have a fully functioning platform and are hoping to implement more features as well. We take a lot of time to reflect on what our community has to say and are taking a lot of time to implement what they suggest.

About Solanax

Solanax is a Solana-based automated market maker (AMM) exchange providing lightning-fast trades, pooled liquidity, and other income-generating features. Solana was chosen as the underlying blockchain to facilitate low-cost, high-speed transactions. It is a permissionless, high-performance blockchain based on the Proof of History consensus (PoH).

Given the advantages that Solana offers when compared to other blockchain ecosystems, it is a popular solution among investors, users, and developers. Ethereum’s Proof of Work Consensus is slow, hard to scale, and comes with high gas fees which were exacerbated by its account-based system. Where Ethereum has failed to live up to the community expe, Solana quickly proves to be a viable alternative.

Solanax will utilize the cross-bridge Wormhole to connect to projects and digital assets existing on the Ethereum blockchain, facilitating adoption and allowing the crypto community to seamlessly move tokenized assets from one blockchain to another, improving interoperability and liquidity setup.

It is faster and cheaper; Solanax offers on-chain liquidity; traders will have more control over their trading activities; an integration of Wormhole for fusion with tokenized assets on the Ethereum blockchain, and much more.
